I fell in love with Pilates when I started on a health and wellness journey that began after hitting my highest weight of over 300 pounds. I was suffering from numerous health problems, and knew I had to do something to improve my health. In 2018, I had bariatric surgery to jump start my weight loss. Once cleared for exercise, I started practicing Pilates and fell in love with the reformer. The Pilates studio quickly became my happy place. A year later, I signed up for the Club Pilates Teacher Training Program so I could share the joy of movement with others on their own health and wellness journeys. Although I've lost over 150 pounds, the most important factor to me is that my health and quality of life has drastically improved. Pilates has taught me to focus more on tuning into how my body is feeling instead of focusing on a number on the scale.
