Originally from Georgia, Yara grew up as a classical ballet dancer, and studied with many prominent schools and companies around the US. Through her dance training, she was introduced to the benefits of Pilates and adopted it into her practice at a young age. Her love of movement evolved after completing her certification through Club Pilates. She now brings her attention to detail, technique and creative choreography to every class. Her goal in teaching is to help others find the eloquence in their bodies, and fuel a mind-body connection with an awareness of breath that leaves students feeling accomplished, powerful and peaceful after each workout. When Yara is not teaching, she might be walking her dog around Echo Park, taking too many pictures of her cat, acting, dancing, or taking another class on a reformer next to her awesome students.
