Maria was certified by Romana’s Pilates in 2001 in NYC. She received an MA in Dance Education from NYU in 1996. She employs much of her education/knowledge from her Master’s work such as kinesiology, body mechanics and other areas of body reconstruction from her studies. Maria was an amateur modern dancer. She danced as a non-company member with Douglas Dunn. Focusing on Improvisational Dance and Choreography. Also, playing tennis, swimming throughout. From 2001 to 2006 she lived and taught in Vienna, Austria working at various conservatories of both modern dance and ballet. Many of her private clients were members of the State Opera Ballet of Vienna, Austria. She taught at a very prestigious Fitness Club ‘Beers’ which is known to have the best trainers in Austria. Maria had numerous magazine articles written about her and her work. She taught athletes, the general population and even circus performers. In 2006 she returned to New Jersey and began teaching in fitness clubs and the JCC of Tenafly. Maria then opened her own studio in Emerson, NJ which thrived. Continuing her reputation of excellent training and the ability to change bodies for the better, she presently works with dancers, opera singers, middle school, high school students, athletes and older pilates enthusiasts in their 70’s and 80”s. Her focus is on strengthening; aligning the body & balance, particularly for her senior clients to help them take the knowledge of Pilates into real life for a stronger, healthier life style. She works with injured people, adults and kids with scoliosis many individuals with osteoporosis, seniors and yes has had great success in making all these bodies stronger and more functional. She is now a crucial part of the Club Pilates Englewood Family!
