Cristy Eggers, ATC
Instructor
My studies in the realm of health and fitness began several years ago when I entered the Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training program at FGCU. Since injury prevention is a dominant focus is this field, I was introduced to the Pilates Method during a clinical rotation and was hooked from that day forward. Finding a profound difference in my own mind and body connection as well the ability to create healthier movement patterns, I soon found myself in a daily practice. I began to recognize imbalances within my own body that strength training alone could not correct. As a certified Athletic Trainer, I felt that becoming an instructor in the Pilates method was the best way for me to help those wishing to have a more active lifestyle by taking a whole body approach to improve strength, posture and muscle balance. By focusing on our ABCs (alignment, breath and control), we always seek to move with purpose. I am excited to be able to share my knowledge as well as continually learn how to help others improve their connection to the method. Exercise truly is the best medicine, and as Joseph Pilates once said “Change Happens Through Movement and Movement Heals”.
