Amy is a Balanced Body Certified instructor and holds a B. A. in Performing Arts from Saint
Mary’s College of California. She has loved her experiences of teaching the Pilates Method in
many different settings, forms, and to such wonderful and diverse groups of people. Amy has
had a passion for Pilates since 1997 when she was a student at San Francisco Ballet School.
She took her first Pilates mat class there. Ever since then, she has found Pilates to be a
method that brings her joy, confidence, strength, peace, and energy. With a background in
dance, Amy brings 18 plus years of unique movement experience and knowledge. She is
grateful for her time as a professional ballerina with companies such as Oakland Ballet,
Company C Contemporary Ballet, Peninsula Ballet, and Ross Dance Company. As a Pilates
instructor, Amy strives to help others achieve their optimal health goals while providing a fun,
challenging, positive, and supportive environment. Amy has two boys: Max and Nico. She
enjoys family outings, hikes, sushi, and sunny days. Amy also holds teacher training and
certifications in TRX, Stephanie Herman’s Pilates Ballet Fundamentals, as well as an SWC
Personal Training Certification.
