Jan Anderson
Jan was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a former competitive gymnast
of 12 years and a cheerleader for many years as well, there has always been a passion for
health and fitness. Jan is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where she
studied business and cheered throughout her college career. Exuding the enthusiasm
towards fitness, people sought advice from Jan on how to be healthy and live a healthy
lifestyle, even dating back to when she was in high school. With an eagerness to find
something that made her feel as good as she felt when she was in gymnastics, she
attended her first Pilates class in 2010. She was hooked! Jan now found a new type of
exercise that she loved and found a way to help people change their lives through
fitness. BONUS! The following year she received her Mat Pilates certification through
AAAI/ISMA. In 2014, she became a qualified Barre instructor through Merrithew
Health and Wellness and through Barre Above. Two years later, she received her
Reformer certification through STOTT Pilates and will be comprehensively certified in
2020. TRX Suspension Training and Indoor Cycling are other fitness modalities you
will find Jan teaching in the area.
