Aubrey T
Pilates Instructor
“Physical fitness is the first requisite to happiness” Joseph Pilates.
Growing up in San Luis Obispo, Aubrey trained in a wide variety of dance styles, including classical ballet. Early in her dance practice she was introduced to mat Pilates, but it wasn’t until 2010 that she discovered the reformer and that’s where her fascination with Pilates began. As her Pilates practice grew, she gained a stronger understanding and appreciation for the mind-body connection that we so often forget about in our busy daily lives.
Knowing that for many people, embarking on any new wellness adventure can be intimidating, she loved the concept of a physical practice that not only is accessible to individuals of all abilities but emphasizes breathwork as well. Aubrey achieved her Club Pilates certification in 2017 and began teaching for various studios in San Diego, along with subbing occasionally at the San Luis Obispo Club Pilates while in town.
Along with her 30 plus years dance training, she completed her BA in Dance at San Diego State University. She has a blended teaching style that emphasizes proper form and has a dash of dance and humor in there. She enjoys using music to enhance the mood and tempo of the class, and nothing is more upbeat than a good 80’s throwback. Along with bridgework, her all -time favorite reformer move is legs in straps, ahhhhhh nothing is more relaxing.
Pilates instruction is constantly teaching her new elements of wellness and the body-mind connection. Aubrey takes pride in being able to help individuals achieve new fitness goals and loves seeing their progress. When she’s not in the studio, you can find her chasing after her toddler, hanging with family, loving on her French bulldog, or enjoying the outdoors.
