Alexandria Archer was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia where she started dancing at the age of 3. She found Sugarloaf Performing Arts to be her home where she trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, lyrical, contemporary, and musical theater. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. Alongside dance technique, she also took classes in anatomy, pedagogy, choreography, and Pilates. After experiencing her first Pilates class, she knew this was something she wanted to further pursue. As she started to incorporate Pilates in her dance teaching and training as well as her personal daily practice, Alex began to see tremendous, positive changes both physically and mentally. Training under Betty Nicolay, she got the opportunity to complete her Pilates certification through Balanced Body. This is only the beginning of her Pilates journey, as Alex plans to advance her study and continue to spread the same positive change she found within herself, with her students.
