Originally from Michigan, Jennifer moved out to Colorado the first time in 2001. Despite loving the mountains and the people, after 6 years, she decided it was time for a new adventure and moved to San Diego. There she discovered Club Pilates. Realizing her passion was helping people get stronger from the inside out, and Not being in a cubicle doing Accounting 12 hours a day, she enrolled in the Club Pilates instructor training program. 3 years ago, Jennifer decided to move back to Colorado and continue following her dream of introducing Pilates into everyone's life. She incorporates it into her every day activities whether it be hiking, biking, snowboarding, walking...and encourages others to do the same. Everyone can benefit from it. Do Pilates. Do Life.
Native to Colorado, Devan has grown up with love for the outdoors, and being physically active. Snowboarding, Hiking, Snowshoeing, and Camping you name it. Working in the fitness industry for 10 years Devan enjoys working with every kind of body from Athletes training for a specific sport to people working with injuries, chronic pain or that are post rehab/physical therapy. “ I tell people, the reason I do pilates is so I can enjoy my hobbies(that usually end up destroying my body)” . Laura grew up in New Jersey, where she started her dance training at a young age. As her dance training intensified, she discovered how beneficial Pilates was as a supplement to her ballet technique. With the help of her Pilates practice, she danced professionally with Houston Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Charlotte Ballet, and Sacramento Ballet. Laura also received her undergraduate degree in Ballet and Applied Health Science from Indiana University, where she also received her Pilates Certification from Lotus Pilates in Bloomington, Indiana. Alongside dancing professionally, Laura has taught mat and equipment Pilates classes at dance academies and Pilates studios around the country. She also enjoys yoga, backpacking, and cooking. Laura incorporates ballet and yoga elements into her Pilates teaching and loves sharing her passion for movement and health with others through Pilates.
Jordan Malcolm started her Pilates journey in San Diego in 2014. She was looking for something that would balance out her cardio workouts and focus on the mind-body connection, as well as an exercise that would help with anxiety and depression. Jordan would like for anyone and everyone to be able to come to Pilates class to slow down, be present, and focus on themselves. She truly believe that Pilates is just as helpful for mental health as it is for physical health. Outside of the studio she enjoys traveling, scuba diving, riding horses, and taking her dog for walks.
Julie grew up outside of Pittsburgh, PA and was very active in dance and sports throughout her school years. But after college she found herself in a desk job with constant aches and pains. Based on the recommendation from her doctor, Julie dove deep into the Pilates method. Seeing and feeling the functional benefits of Pilates, she decided she needed to learn more and bring those benefits of Pilates to others. “I call this my old lady job. I want to have the ability to do all of the things I love until my dying day - I want to make sure I can still hike with my dog, dance in my kitchen, and travel without limitations - and I want others to be able to do that too.” Julie received her Comprehensive Teacher Training certificate from BASI Pilates and is also TRX certified.
A couple of years ago, Catie was introduced to Pilates and fell in love! She really enjoyed the focus on stretching, breathing and overall mobility/functional movement. She has been teaching Pilates for over 2 years before joining the Club Pilates training program in early 2018. She likes to integrate her past knowledge of weight lifting with the Pilates principles to make every class challenging yet fun and well rounded.
Angela Lisa has been a part of the Club Pilates team since 2017. She is also a professional ballet dancer with Ballet Ariel and Ballet5280. Prior to living in Denver, she danced professionally with Nashville Dance Initiative, Dance Theatre of Tennessee, Dayton Ballet, and Tevlin Ballet. Angela Lisa graduated from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music with a BFA in ballet and a minor in Communication in 2013. She has also trained on scholarship with Milwaukee Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre. She received her Pilates training and certification through Club Pilates and The University of Nevada. Angela Lisa loves Pilates because it teaches fluid and controlled movement throughout the body and creates a connection between the mind and the body.
