Beginning in high school she gained a passion for fitness, taking kickboxing classes and working out with friends in her free time. It wasn't until she moved to Savannah, Georgia for college the she began taking Pilates classes at a studio the school provided free for students. That’s when she first found her love of Pilates! After deciding she no longer wanted to further her education in Savannah, she moved back to Austin and began taking classes with us at Club Pilates Lakeway. Fast forward a couple months later she signed up for the teacher training program, and is now certified to teach and share her passion with you!
Originally from a western suburb of Chicago, Christa now lives in North Austin with her three kids and husband. Her journey began with her love of the human body and its ability to self heal. She received her Masters in physical therapy from Northern Illinois University, and transitional doctorate in physical therapy from Texas Women’s University. Her desire for warm weather and outdoor activities inspired her to live in Dallas where she treated in a spine specialty clinic call " Texas Back Institute" for five years. This experience deepened her appreciation of proper spinal movement and core control as she was providing mat pilates movements for her patients in their rehabilitation.
Being an avid participant in exercise, physical fitness and group classes, Christa wanted to expand her experience to be beyond working with the injured population in a physical therapy clinic, and include a preventative population. “Watching people exercise and seeing the possibility of injury in their future was too much for me to contain.” She made the decision in expanding her practice into becoming a Pilates instructor and completed the 500 hour Club Pilates teacher training program in April 2018. She purposely sought out Club Pilates program due to its integration of TRX, BOSU and other props which she has used daily in her practice in rehabilitation.
Christa is excited to share her passion for movement, core control and the variety of equipment Club Pilates has to offer. Helping you feel better each and every day is what brings her to the studio.

Katy has been in the fitness world since college where she found her passion for teaching group exercise. She loved using her creative thinking to create workout routines to engage and challenge the members! Katy spent 12 years teaching and coordinating group fitness classes for gyms in the Dallas area like Larry North Fitness Factory and 24 HR Fitness. She always had a passion for art and creativity and found she could express it not only thru painting and pottery but also thru exercise! Katy took a break from teaching to have a family but remained very active running, cycling and doing adventure races. After realizing she needed something more that would not be as hard on her body, she found Pilates and naturally realized it was time to go back to doing what she loves: teaching people to do something good for themselves. Katy is currently studying for her PMA and working on her PSM (Pilates Suspension Method) certification.
Carol brings a unique perspective to our studio!
First, because she's originally from England, her British accent and use of her homeland's culture in her cueing brings a different flavor to her classes! But more importantly because her health and fitness journey provide a powerful example of the importance of respecting science and being persistent and consistent..... knowledge and experience she readily shares as she encourages others with similar challenges. Carol struggled with and ultimately conquered decades of obesity, got through a cervical cancer scare and overcame pre-diabetes..... but was also suffering from some structural ailments resulting from decades sitting in front of a computer during her IT Program / Project management career.... namely T5-6 compression of the spine and Kyphosis (hunch back). Thinking she was unable to do much about these two issues, she told herself they were just the price of advancing middle age. Then she heard a neighbor comment about her success with Pilates and decided to give it a try. After just a few months of consistent Pilates practice her T5-6 issue resolved and she hasn't needed to see a chiropractor since! Her Kyphosis has also been significantly reduced!! Pilates has also enabled Carol to establish a consistent mind-body connection that motivates her to manage / maintain her health, so the diet and lifestyle diseases she previously suffered from are much less likely to come calling again. This personal success drove Carol to then want to deepen her understanding of Pilates, and to leverage that learning to help others with their health and fitness challenges. Fifteen months into her own Pilates journey she began her Instructor training, ultimately earning her comprehensive Instructor certification on March 9, 2019, just two days shy of her 2nd Pilates anniversary! Carol continues to grow her knowledge of Pilates, develop her self practice and enrich how she teaches others. Her goal being to enable her to have a health span as long as her life span, and for those she teaches, to be inspired to have a similar journey.
