Alana was first introduced to Pilates when she lived in San Francisco. After her first class she was hooked and started taking lessons as often as she could! Fast forward after having a good understanding of what it would take to become an instructor; she went through the BASI Pilates comprehensive teacher training because that was the same training her then-mentor went through. Alana teaches very descriptively to make sure everyone feels the exercise in the right places, and is performing it to the best of their ability. Her main goal is for each client to walk away feeling put back together and accomplished! Nothing makes her happier than to see clients get stronger and to progress in their practice. She practices what she preaches - literally! Alana does Pilates 6 days a week because it is what her body craves to feel happy, balanced, and proud. Most importantly, it's what she loves.
Alexandra was first introduced to Pilates mat work when she was 17 during her training as a dancer. Since then her passion and appreciation for Pilates has grown. While receiving her B.A. in Psychology at UC Santa Cruz Alexandra continued her dance training and furthered her experience in Pilates mat work but left school with injuries that limited her ability to continue her work as a student and training as a dancer. Pilates helped her cope with these injuries as she turned to Pilates for rehabilitation. After feeling the benefits of Pilates in her own body she knew she wanted to become a Pilates instructor. She took a mat work teacher training program in 2013 and became interested in Pilates apparatus. She started taking classes at Club Pilates and fell in love with Pilates all over again. Alexandra completed her 500-hour instructor training through Club Pilates in July 2017. She enjoys teaching Pilates to empower others to improve their physical fitness and overall wellbeing.
Deanna is from Bay Shore, NY and has been a licensed chiropractor for over 25 years. Throughout her career, she has practiced in St. Louis, Phoenix and San Diego. She thoroughly understands human bio-metrics and the importance of alignment and balance. At a young age she became deeply passionate about physical fitness and wanted to learn more about Pilates. Where she lived on Long Island, Pilates studios were few and far between, and it wasn’t until a move to San Diego that she discovered numerous Pilates studios. She immersed herself in the practice and knew right away that she wanted to semi-retire as a chiropractor and become a Pilates instructor. One of Deanna's favorite quotes from Joseph Pilates' book, "Return to Life Through Contrology," reads: "Contrology develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind, and elevates the spirit." Deanna loves talking with clients after class and seeing that they feel challenged and accomplished. Her connection with clients is one of her favorite parts of being a Pilates instructor. In her free time, Deanna loves spending time with family and friends, doing Pilates, exploring astronomy, and wine tasting.

I was born and raised in Minnesota, after college, I moved to Colorado to ski, hike and enjoy life. I met my husband and moved to San Diego in 2001. We reside in pacific beach with our lovely son and doggie. My Pilates adventure began from my mentor and now studio owner, Arielle Dumaw. During her teacher training she introduced me to the practice and continued to push me. Her motivation helped me to complete the comprehensive 500 hr Club Pilates certification course. Since leaving my corporate job, I have never looked back.... Pilates has helped me with posture, stress levels and safely working with old sports injuries! I feel alive!!! My favorite class to teach is level 2 and my FIT classes too! I take pride on challenging work outs and creative exercises to challenge that muscle memory.

Kat’s interest in pilates started when she was a dancer in Sydney, where she would take regular mat pilates classes. After suffering injuries from an accident, pilates greatly helped her recovery and Kat realized how versatile pilates could be, and how much pilates helped people that were unable to do “regular” exercise. Since moving to America and starting a family, Kat’s passion for pilates grew and becoming a Pilates instructor felt like the natural path for Kat. Kat has always had a passion for health and wellness and wanted to find a career where she could go from helping people that are recovering from injuries or dealing with health problems to teaching group classes to build strength, flexibility and mind body connection. Kat started her teacher training with Club Pilates in January 2018 and does pilates 6 times a week!
