Clare Stelling, began a lifelong passion as a dancer at a young age, danced all through high school and college at Emerson College Boston, 1985. She danced professionally, but numerous injuries brought her performance aspirations to a halt. However after going thru PT, and massage therapy, she was inspired to embark in the field of mind body therapies and rehabilitation that would be a lifelong path. Clare moved to LA in 1995, began to study yoga and embraced a career working with Physical and Occupational Therapists. Clare was encouraged to explore Massage Therapy as a career and received her certification in MT, in 1996. During that time, she was introduced to Pilates and found it to be a tremendous means of rehab for not only herself, but her massage clients. Pilates not only changed her body, but changed her LIFE ! In 1998, Clare enrolled in the Physicalmind Institute 2-year Pilates Mat and Apparatus certification program in California under the tutelage of Maria Leone, and Jillian Hessel and completed her certification in NYC. She continued with advanced Pilates training with Ron Fletcher, Moria Stott, Brent Anderson, and Alycea Ungaro, and opened the first and the only fully equipped Pilates studio in Rockland County. She along with her staff of amazing teachers brought outstanding awareness of Pilates to the area while it was still in its infancy. Clare proceeded to grow and teach and mentor other teachers, and has been asked to pilot Pilates programs in other dedicated Pilates Studios, corporate fitness programs, dance and yoga studios. Clare masterfully integrates her Pilates sessions, with her skills as a Body worker, mind-body therapist, and Reiki practitioner, and influences from her own practice and study in dance, yoga, Gyrokenesis, Feldenkrais, and Qi-gong. Clare is not only stronger now than ever, and happy to be back to dancing and performing regularly,
