Quote from Michelle, âI really enjoy teaching Pilates, and during the past 9 years I have learned so much. In my heart, I want every client to learn to understand the value of Pilates as a preventative and restorative practice. I strive to help each of them grow to love Pilates. I personally cannot touch the lives of each client that enters a Pilates studio, but I can teach instructors the art of Pilates, share my passion with them and through them more clients can be reached.
Originally from the Bay Area, California, Krista received her comprehensive Pilates certification in 2014. She discovered Pilates when she began taking private sessions to help her incredibly poor posture and to rehabilitate a broken shoulder, and quickly fell in love. When the opportunity to become an instructor came up, she jumped at it and discovered a passion for giving clients a positive movement experience, an exceptional eye for detail, and a deep love for rehabilitative Pilates.
Eight years ago, Krista experienced severe health issues that caused her body to completely fall apart, revealing her Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. This left her dangerously hypermobile, unstable, with zero strength, and experiencing neurological symptoms resembling those of MS and Parkinson’s.
It was through Pilates, working with dedicated and talented instructors, that she slowly put her body back together. This process of completely relearning biomechanics and understanding proper alignment and correct muscle firing gave her invaluable insight into the human body—insight that continues to inform her teaching.
Krista has worked with all different types and ages of clients, from the elderly to high school athletes. Her goal is to provide instructors in training with the knowledge, support, and mentorship necessary to empower them to give their clients the best Pilates experience possible.
In her free time, she is an artist who works with collage and alternative photographic processes.
