Robin fell in love with Pilates while studying at the University of Iowa in 2001, where she immersed herself in reformer and mat classes several days a week. After earning her BS in Health, Leisure, and Sports Studies in 2003, she quickly realized that the most transformative education she received in college wasn’t in a lecture hall… it was in the Pilates studio.
She completed a comprehensive 600+ hour classical Pilates training program through Power Pilates in 2004, building a strong foundation rooted in the original method. Over the next fifteen years, Robin taught throughout the Chicagoland area, including at her own studio, PilatesBodies, refining both her teaching voice and her deep respect for the integrity of the work. In 2015, she earned her National Certification and became a Nationally Certified Pilates Instructor (NCPI).
After relocating near Huntsville, Alabama, Robin stepped into leadership and Master Training roles, where she discovered a true passion for developing instructors. Since then, she has mentored and launched over 100 instructors into successful new careers, guiding them to build technical precision, professional confidence, and a deep understanding of authentic Pilates. Her mentorship emphasizes strong foundations, intelligent progression, disciplined programming, and respect for the lineage of the method — principles she believes are essential for long-term success in the industry.
Robin is known for holding high standards while fostering structured, supportive learning environments. She is deeply committed to preserving true Pilates in an industry that can sometimes drift toward trends and diluted interpretations of the work.
In addition to her teaching and training, Robin has appeared on multiple news segments and podcasts, sharing her expertise on Pilates, instructor development, and the importance of maintaining the integrity of the method in today’s fitness landscape.
Today, she continues to teach and mentor both in person and virtually, investing in the next generation of instructors while remaining grounded in the original work that first inspired her.
When she’s not teaching or leading trainings, Robin spends time with her husband and their four children, enjoying the outdoors, or tackling her latest home repair or renovation project.
