Helene came into Pilates to tone and strengthen while losing weight. She fell in love with the movement and how it made her feel, and she decided to become a certified Pilates Instructor in 2015. Helene is trained in Classical Pilates and also Contemporary Pilates. She started working at a Club Pilates in Southern California in 2017 and met a Master Trainer that would change her outlook on fitness and her life. It was then that Helene made the decision to become a Master Trainer. She went on to pursue her TRX, Barre Above with Pilates Focus and Trigger Point Therapy certifications while still in California. Helene moved to the PNW in February 2018 and pursued additional certifications in Total Barre, Balletone, Pilates Suspension Method (PSM) and Bodhi. Helene became a National Certified Pilates Teacher in 2020 and a Club Pilates Master Trainer in 2021. While taking her Barre Above with Pilates Focus certification class with Leslee Bender, co-creator of the program, another spark was ignited. The love of Pilates and the little ballerina in Helene was determined to become a Program Specialist for this program. In 2023, Helene became a Program Specialist for Barre Above with Pilates Focus and is spreading the knowledge and love for this specialized class to others. In 2023/2024 Helene also became a Scoliosis Specialist Pilates Instructor, Ageless Training Academy Coach and is currently studying to become PCES Certified (Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist). Helene loves mentoring new instructors while teaching them the foundations of Pilates and other modalities and how to be the best they can be.

Originally from the Bay Area, California, Krista received her comprehensive Pilates certification in 2014. She discovered Pilates when she began taking private sessions to help her incredibly poor posture and to rehabilitate a broken shoulder, and fell in love. When the opportunity to become an instructor came up, she jumped at it, and discovered she had a passion for and dedication to giving clients a positive movement experience, an exceptional eye, and a deep love for rehabilitative Pilates. Eight years ago she experienced some severe health issues that caused her body to completely fall apart, revealing her Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and leaving her dangerously hypermobile, unstable, with zero strength, and with neurological symptoms that resembled those of MS and Parkinson’s. It was through Pilates, working with dedicated, talented instructors that she slowly put her body back together. This process of having to completely relearn biomechanics and what proper alignment and correct muscle firing feels like gave her a truly invaluable insight into the human body that continues to inform her teaching. She has worked with all different types and ages of clients, from the elderly to high school athletes. Her goal is to provide instructors in training with the knowledge, support, and mentorship necessary to empower them to provide their clients with the best Pilates experience possible. In her free time, she is an artist who works with collage and alternative photographic processes.
