Lisa Grady

Pilates Instructor
Lisa comes to Club Pilates with a wealth of knowledge and firsthand experience in injury recovery. She has been a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant for over 23 years, a Massage Therapist for over 30 years, and has danced in Ballet, Lyrical, Russian Dance (in Sitka, Alaska), and Bellydancing for over 45 years. Lisa has lived with chronic pain for most of her life: neck injury at age 7 from a car accident; broken collarbone & separated shoulder from a trampoline fall at age 11; car accident at 18 that left her with a herniated lumbar disc, concussion, whiplash, and both knees damaged; 2 more whiplash injuries from car accidents; a fall on outstretched right arm that damaged the shoulder and 3 bulging discs in her neck; and now is in recovery from Long Covid were she sustained a brain and neurological injury that effected the right side of her body and has left lasting chronic fatigue. The thing that Lisa would like you to know is that with good Physical Therapy, injury can be healed, but it is Pilates that allowed her to fully bring her body into balance and has helped her recover from the effects on Covid. At the age of 57, Lisa became a Certified Pilates Instructor. “I know that I will be teaching and doing Pilates for the rest of my life. Through all the years of injury and recovery, it is the only form of body strengthening that has helped every part of my body return to a healthy balance.” Lisa presently is practicing Physical Therapy at an outpatient clinic that specializes in Pelvic Floor Rehab for Women & Men. She hopes to incorporate this strength training into the practice of Pilates.
