My introduction to Pilates started 40 some years ago. My Mom was an instructor in Los Angeles teaching students Contrology (The classic form of Methodology/Pilates). Her students were mainly actors and actresses like, Marla Maples and Lisa Kudrow. I never really gave Pilates much thought as a young teen. All I wanted to do was ride horses. I had a pretty severe riding accident that injured my spine. And so my Pilates journey began. Pilates was a form of rehabilitation for me, physically and emotionally. I had struck gold and didn’t even know it! After years of practicing the art of Methodology I realized I wanted to help others learn this form of exercise. I have 3 certifications in Classic Pilates. My mentors were Diane Severino and Carol Monaco. Towel, matt and equipment including Reformer, Chair, Barrel and the Trap Table (Otherwise known as the Cadillac), were and still are my areas of expertise. I have more hours than I care to admit teaching and doing Pilates. I have owned successful Pilates studios in the Bay area and Oregon. I am a survivor of cancer and have had multiple surgeries on my back and hips. I attribute my positive attitude and contagious happiness to Pilates. Living physically fit through mind/body exercise is a way of life. No matter what age, gender and your physical/mental health Pilates will enhance your life! Club Pilates has brought an incredible amount of happiness to me! The instructors and members of Club Pilates become an extension of your family. A truly wonderful expression of physical, mental and emotional health! I encourage everyone to become “Part of the family” here at Club Pilates!
