Teresa Whittemore

Apprentice Instructor
Teresa has been a movement instructor since 2014, when she began her career as a dance educator. Around that same time, she was introduced to classical Mat Pilates as a method of cross-training, and she fell in love with the process of discovering imbalances in the body and rehabilitating chronic pains through movement. In college, Teresa studied Dance and Pre-Physical Therapy at University of Maryland, Baltimore County while working as a dance educator and physical therapy tech. Since graduating, Teresa has been pursuing continuing education in the fitness and dance rehabilitation industry, becoming certified as a Progressing Ballet Technique instructor, and studying with dance physiotherapist, Lisa Howell. In 2022, she began training in Pilates apparatus work and started down a new path of pursuing her comprehensive Pilates certification. Teresa finds that Pilates is the most accessible and customizable form of movement practice that is welcoming to bodies of all sizes, ages, and ability levels. She is looking forward to bringing her love of movement practice and body mechanics to the Club Pilates Rotunda family!
