Teacher Training FAQ

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM?
The Club Pilates Teacher Training Program is a 500-hour Comprehensive Pilates Education Program that includes training in all Comprehensive apparatus: Mat, Pilates Reformer, Jumpboard, Cadillac, Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, and Magic Circle. In addition, our program includes training in anatomy and Special Populations. We are also the first and only program with an interactive, online learning portal where you watch the lecture portions at your own pace and in your own comfortable environment. You will watch and study these portions of the course while taking notes prior to attending the first of the in-studio days.
ONCE I ENROLL, WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
You will receive login information for our online learning portal within 2 business days; you will have access to the portal for one year from your first in-studio day at Club Pilates. Your Host Studio and/or Master Trainer will contact you prior to the first in-studio day.
WHAT IS THE HOST STUDIO?
This is the Club Pilates studio location where Teacher Training Participants will practice, observe, and attend in-studio days. Please contact your host studio location with any questions regarding the program. This is the studio you are granted one-year access to in order to complete the program.
WHAT ARE IN-STUDIO DAYS?
The Club Pilates Teacher Training Program includes 12 set days of training led by a Club Pilates Master Trainer. Each day includes five-and-a-half hours of total learning time with a half hour of scheduled breaks. You will be moving and teaching the majority of each day. Participants are required to attend all 12 in-studio days for the Comprehensive program. Attendance is tracked.
WHAT ARE THE TWELVE DAYS/MODULES?
On each of the 12 in-studio days, the information presented is referred to as a Module. There are 12 Modules, each with accompanying online material, including lectures on anatomy and biomechanics, informative videos, and breakdowns of all of the exercises. Each module is one day of training. You will read/watch module content online, complete the module study guide provided in the online learning portal, and take notes in correlation with the videos; you will then attend the corresponding in-studio day for each module. After every in-studio day, it helps to review the notes and videos for the module you just completed to gain the most information from your training. Additionally, many participants benefit from completing as much of the online coursework in advance as possible. You can begin online coursework the day you enroll!
WHAT ARE THE ADDITIONAL MATERIALS I WILL NEED?
You are required to read “The Return to Life Through Contrology” by Joseph Pilates. Many participants find new and used copies online. Some have found a copy at their local public library.
WHAT DO I NEED IN ORDER TO GRADUATE?
You will need to complete all 500 hours, the online coursework, a written exercise library, a written class library, a final written exam, and a final practical test out with your Master Trainer. Your progress through the course is self-tracked and overseen by your host studio and mentor Master Trainer. However, you will be provided guidance on how to stay on track every step of the way so you graduate by your goal date.
WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE MAT AND/OR REFORMER TRAINING?
The Club Pilates Teacher Training Program is offered as both a Comprehensive program as well as by module. Please contact your local Club Pilates studio or use the Interest Form above for more information about our module offerings.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Please review the Program Catalog for the current tuition rates.
WHAT DOES TUITION INCLUDE?
The tuition includes a digital copy of the Club Pilates Teacher Training manuals, access to our online educational materials, access to the Host Studio, guidance from your Master Trainer, and mentorship for up to a year.
