My journey with Pilates started during the pandemic. As a mother of two and a hairstylist, I found myself overweight with horrible posture. The pandemic ensued and I started running to lose all the weight I had gained over the years from having kids and neglecting my health by falling out of my weekly workout routines. I reached my ideal weight within 6 months, however realized i had no strength in my body and still had poor body alignment. My journey into Pilates started at Club Pilates Alameda taking an intro class. Even though it was challenging - I knew that it was exactly what my body needed. The things that excite you are not random; they are connected to your purpose, so follow them! Today as an instructor I can testify firsthand Pilates changes lives. Not only did i learn how to live in my body correctly through developing a strong core, but i feel an interconnection with my mind as well that has created a balance I never knew was possible prior to Pilate. Being a runner and cross-trainer, its taught me to move correctly without injuries and proper form. My primary goal and mission as a Pilates Instructor and Fitness Professional is to empower women to feel confident in their bodies. We often lose track of our health when life changes or gets challenging -- the hardest part is just showing up. My specific approach to my classes is fitness-based and you'll definitely break a sweat. I love using props such as the magic circle and incorporating barre into my flow. I enjoy showing others what their bodies are capable of doing with hard work.
