Amanda Proffitt-Newcomb

Movement Specialist
Meet Amanda Originally from Asheville, NC, Amanda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dance Studies from Appalachian State University and is a certified Pilates instructor through Pilates Sports Center’s comprehensive training program. Inspired by her instructors in the App State Classical Pilates Program, she fell in love with the sense of community they created and was motivated to become an instructor herself. Amanda has been teaching Pilates since 2023. As a Contemporary Pilates instructor and dancer, Amanda blends anatomy, choreography, and Pilates principles to create dynamic, mindful classes. She especially loves focusing on stretching techniques and ways to de-stress. Her teaching philosophy centers on providing a supportive yet challenging environment where clients can experience the Pilates method at their own pace. For Amanda, Pilates is where artistry and athleticism meet, and she’s passionate about helping clients discover their own inner beauty and strength. Amanda’s favorite part of teaching is connecting with clients, sharing laughs, encouragement, and witnessing the joy of progress. She loves that Club Pilates celebrates accessibility and diversity in Pilates, creating a welcoming space for anyone to explore and grow without pressure or comparison. Some of Amanda’s most memorable moments come when clients share how Pilates has made a difference in their daily lives, whether lifting something with ease or feeling more confident in movement. Outside of the studio, Amanda performs with the Asheville Ballet, teaches Tap dance, and loves crafting and discovering new coffee shops with her husband. Fun fact: her first internship out of college was working for a Radio City Rockette! Her favorite quote: “Take more chances, dance more dances.”
