Comprehensively Certified Pilates Instructor
I have been a member of Club Pilates since spring of 2017. I joined after trying to find a workout that would strengthen my bones after intense chemotherapy and help the aches and pains I had, especially in my hips.
I am a two time breast cancer survivor. First diagnosis was in 2012 with Triple Negative Breast Cancer of which I had 3 types of chemo and 34 rounds of radiation. Then at the end of 2019, 6 tumors were found on my yearly ultrasound and 3 of those tumors were hormone positive breast cancer. It was necessary at that point for me to have a double mastectomy without reconstruction. Pilates has meant so much to me and I am so grateful there is a CP studio here in Bend, as that was one of my “requirements” when we moved here spring of 2019. After surgery I have had to re-learn how to use and move my upper body, maintain my mobility, as well as gain feeling back in my chest. It has been a mix of frustration and growth! Club Pilates for me has been such a passion and I have loved watching this Bend CP studio grow and thrive! I decided in February of 2022 to do the teacher training and found I loved teaching so much. As a former first grade and special ed teacher, teaching is a passion. Both my husband, as well as our 3 fantastic teenagers, are thriving in the community with skiing, surfing, mountain biking, lacrosse and social activism. I look forward to seeing you either in my class or when I take classes myself!
