Mae Duncan
Movement Specialist
Meet Mae: I grew up in Western North Carolina and later moved to the coast for college, where my passion for movement and mindfulness continued to evolve. Drawn to the connection between body and mind from a young age, I became a certified yoga instructor in 2019. While living in Wilmington, I began working at Club Pilates, where I was introduced to the Reformer and quickly fell in love with Pilates. This experience led me to begin my 500-hour Pilates teacher training in 2023. My classes are thoughtfully designed to balance strength and softness—challenging yet calming—so students feel both empowered and refreshed. I enjoy blending classic, foundational movements with creative choreography and new techniques to keep classes engaging and fun. My greatest joy as an instructor is watching students build strength, unlock new movements, and develop a deeper connection to their bodies. Outside of the studio, I work full-time as a Montessori teacher and enjoy spending time outdoors with my dog, exploring creative hobbies, hiking, and staying connected to nature. At the core of my teaching and life philosophy is a simple belief in leading with love.
