Yessenia Maldonado

Pilates Instructor
Yessenia is originally from Boston and has called Tampa home since 2005. She has always held a deep admiration for health and recovery. In high school, she participated in the HOSA Nursing program, and during college, she completed volunteer and shadowing hours under several Physical and Occupational Therapists, including at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She graduated from the University of South Florida in 2019 with a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Health Sciences. After high school, Yessenia underwent intense bone and muscle surgery to remove a benign tumor under her right shoulder blade, followed by months of physical therapy. That experience sparked her love for rehabilitation and a deep appreciation for even the smallest improvements in physical function. She developed a passion for Occupational Therapy and the empowerment it brings by helping clients regain independence in their daily lives. Through years of studying and fitness training, Yessenia became increasingly drawn to rehabilitative practices for both her own body and others’. In 2019, she discovered Club Pilates through a Facebook ad and found a new passion for fitness and recovery. A few years later, she enrolled in the Club Pilates Teacher Training program and completed her 500-hour certification. Yessenia is inspired daily by the members she teaches and is driven by her commitment to helping every body feel stronger, more capable, and more connected to the power of movement.
