Hi! My name is Levi, My personal hobbies since childhood have always included literature, music, photography, writing, or other forms of arts. While I enjoyed exercise, I never played sports and as I got older my lifestyle became more and more sedentary. By age 14, I was told by doctors that I was obese. I was not pleased with myself and wanted to lose weight, but had no idea where to start. I figured if I just ran and did push-ups a lot that I would get “super fit” and I just knew that I had to do something. After over a full year of doing this, I definitely made progress with weight loss, but eventually was in more pain than ever before in my life. My shoulders, neck, feet, and legs hurt all of the time, and I knew it was because of what I was doing but had no concept of the “why?”. I began to research and fell in love with anatomy and medicine in general. Even though I was beginning to surround myself with people in the fitness and medical communities, through work and school, my instruction career didn’t start until I was hired here at Club Pilates Clear Lake & South Shore Harbor as a sales representative. I was still planning to pursue a career in medicine but was taking courses for nutrition and dietetics at the time. I figured that working with a fitness company would help provide further opportunities for education. I honestly never thought that I could instruct classes, but after 3 months of immersing myself in the Pilates culture, I really couldn’t see myself doing anything else. I physically was feeling better than ever before and wanted to help share that, so I decided to join the Teacher Training program through Club Pilates and began teaching classes In February of this year! As a young person, the difference in my flexibility, muscular control, body awareness, and general physical strength and stamina is so evident since being with Club Pilates, that I feel as though everyone should at least give it a try. The information that I search for and find seems virtually limitless. It’s just astounding how much intention and attention goes into each movement, and I hope to continue to learn with all of my colleagues and members here. My motto is " regardless of how new or seasoned we are there is always new information that can be of benefit to the brain AND body!"
