Shelley
Shelley became a fitness enthusiast at 8 years old when she got her first workout video. Every day since, exercise has been a major part of her life for the benefits it provides in health, sports, fitness, weight management, mind, and community. Shelley diligently maintained a workout regimen through two pregnancies (even making sure to get that last one in the day before going into the hospital to have her babies!). Shelley has enjoyed every exercise out there from running to basketball, soccer, softball, kickboxing, aerobics, spinning, strength training, yoga, and barre. It wasn’t until she found Pilates as a stay-at-home mom that Shelley fell in love with the practice. With her Master’s degree in Psychology, the mind-body connection of Pilates was huge for her. She then enrolled in the Teacher Training program at Club Pilates and completed the 500-hour Comprehensive certification in just 11 months. She began apprentice teaching and then obtained her national certification. With a learner’s mind, she continues to take classes and attend as many workshops as possible. She has completed workshops in pelvic floor support, mat, chair, anatomy of the shoulders, springboard, and BOSU. Some of her favorite classes to teach are F.I.T. and Control. Her next goal with Pilates is to become a Master Trainer, for her love of learning and teaching! Shelley is looking forward to a long career in Pilates and all that this amazing practice has to offer!
