Over 20+ years ago, Theresa was looking for something fun to help decompress and focus on wellness after completing 8 years of night school while working full-time. Having no idea what Pilates was (it wasn’t a mainstream exercise option in the area at that time), she noticed a small studio in Warren, NJ and decided to check it out. Exercise never appealed to her so she joined the studio only for a month, having little faith that something called ‘Pilates’ would change her exercise viewpoint. To say that Pilates changed her life she says is an understatement. She practiced mat Pilates for 15 years with instructor Pat until the Warren studio closed. As luck would have it, Club Pilates in Flemington opened, and it became Theresa’s new home for Pilates. As a caregiver for her aging family members, Theresa sees first-hand the importance of building core strength, focusing on maintaining good posture, stability and peripheral mobility, and continuously improving balance, coordination and circulation. It’s low impact on joints makes Pilates a safe and effective option. Theresa joined the 2021 Teacher Training class and is happily sharing her Pilates love and knowledge in teaching group classes and private sessions with the intent to learn how to ‘pay Pilates forward’. And this she dedicates to instructor Pat!
