Alison has always led an active lifestyle. She danced from an early age and has a minor in Dance from Penn State. She has also played various sports throughout her life. During her career as a traveling software consultant, she started exploring yoga and other mind-body practices to combat stress. At that time she was also an avid runner, and a dance related knee injury left her feeling increasingly imbalanced. Having danced, she had always heard of Pilates, so she decided to give it a try. Within a short period of time she felt stronger, more balanced, and became hooked.
In 2005 she completed her Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Mat training in Annapolis, MD through Power Pilates, a classical training program. The following year she completed her comprehensive equipment training and began teaching around the Washington, DC area.
In the years since she has also taught barre and various core fusion style classes. She hopes to help her students achieve greater body awareness, improve strength, and realize their bodies' fullest potential! When not teaching she is busy with her husband, three children and beagle.
