Julie Smith
Instructor
Julie started practicing Pilates 17 years ago as a way to diversify her workout routine. She loves group fitness and has been through many fads over the years- step aerobics, Zumba, kickboxing, Spinning, etc. Through it all, Pilates has remained constant as her main passion taking several classes a week and finding out something new about her body each class.
Julie joined the Club Pilates Teacher Training program in 2024 and became comprehensively certified in July, 2025. She believes Pilates is for everybody - young and old, athletes, people rehabbing injuries, men and women alike. Don’t underestimate your mind/body connection as you grow in your Pilates practice! Club Pilates has so many great instructors and class options (formats and levels).
Outside of teaching Pilates, she is a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children in Franklin County working with families involved in the child welfare system ensuring the children have a voice in court and that all of their basic needs are being met by their parents or foster families. Julie enjoys cooking, reading fiction novels and cheering for Cleveland sports teams and OSU. I have 2 grown children: Nick is a freshman at WVU and Caroline is a junior at Ohio State. My husband, Matt, runs a medical device company and we have a Bernedoodle named Bandit.
