Certified Pilates Instructor
Barbara Maillard received her Comprehensive Teacher Training Certificate from Body Arts and Science International (BASI Pilates). She also holds specialized certificates in BOSU Pilates, TRX, The Power of Aging, Pilates for Shoulder Injuries, Post-Natal Training, and Pilates for Men. She has a BA in Elementary Education and Spanish as a Second Language Specialization for Highschool. She relocated to Denver in 2020 after living in New York City and Tampa, FL. Barbara is very excited to be a part of the Castle Rock Club Pilates team.
Before Pilates, she loved fitness and wellness of the mind and body all her life, taking her into other fitness practices, such as running 10ks, yoga for several years, spinning, and is very fond of working out at the gym. Barbara came to appreciate the science and art of Pilates recommended by her Physical Therapist after suffering from chronic back pain due to structural hyperlordosis and Diastasis after her childbirth. She was attracted to the BASI approach to Pilates because of its thoughtful emphasis on precision, detail, quality of movement, and flow. As a practitioner and teacher, Barbara is continuously inspired by how Pilates re-educates and heals the body. She enjoys working with people of all backgrounds and fitness levels and teaching Pilates for rehabilitation. Barbara strives to educate her clients in all aspects of fitness - from the proper execution, purpose of each exercise to the importance of rest and rehabilitation. Barbara cannot wait to meet you!
