Maritza
Instructor
Maritza’s fitness journey began with a strong passion for bodybuilding,
but everything changed after a back injury that required surgery.
During her recovery, she discovered the importance of building
strength while staying challenged, and a friend introduced her to
Pilates. From her first session, she was hooked. After two years of
practicing Classical Pilates, Maritza experienced remarkable changes
in her body—gaining strength, flexibility, and a renewed sense of
wellness. Motivated by these transformations, she decided to share
the method with others. Maritza trained for two years under the guidance of Brooke Siler, a 1st generation Romana Pilates teacher, in New York City, and earned her Pilates Method Alliance Certification. With over 20 years of experience practicing and teaching Pilates, she has built a deep expertise in the
method. Before moving to Charleston, SC, she owned and operated a
boutique Pilates studio in Greenwich, CT. Her teaching style is deeply influenced by her own practice, and she remains committed to ongoing learning to better serve her clients. Maritza’s approach to Pilates is both creative and dynamic, always finding new ways to keep each session fresh and fun. She is
passionate about helping others discover the power of movement and
the lasting benefits of Pilates.
