Crystal Smith

Crystal Smith is a highly experienced Pilates instructor with over 10 years of teaching and more than 25 years of personal practice. Holding a BS in Kinesiology with a focus on Exercise and Movement Science and Neuromuscular Science, her approach emphasizes performance, biomechanics, and functional strength.
She is comprehensively trained through Balanced Body University, bbarreless, and holds Dance Aerobic & Fitness Certification. Crystal is TRX-qualified and was the first certified Pilates Suspension Method (PSM) instructor in Pennsylvania, skillfully integrating Pilates with TRX-based training.
A former professional figure skater, Crystal competed nationally and toured internationally, bringing an elite athletic perspective to her teaching. She has extensive experience working with athletes, clients recovering from injuries, and everyone in between. Her background also includes over 30 years of figure skating coaching, time as a PE teacher, and work in the Sports Medicine Department at the Olympic Training Center.
Crystal’s classes are dynamic, challenging, and highly personalized. She values client input and tailors each session—whether a high-energy group class or a focused private session—to build strength, stability, and resilience for real-life movement.
Based in Leesburg, VA, Crystal lives with her husband, two toddlers, and their cat, Thor. She loves how Pilates supports her active lifestyle, keeping her strong and energized for skiing, hiking, and family adventures.
