Movement and fitness has always been a part of Julisa’s life. Growing up she played sports, which led to her interest in strengthening and conditioning. Into adulthood she kept fitness in her life by doing anything from the original 8-minute Abs workout, playing volleyball, weight training with personal trainers and sweating it out in Zumba classes. However, after a couple of knee surgeries, dealing with chronic back pain and going through a few rounds of physical therapy, she had to rethink how she moved and trained. That’s when Pilates came back into her life. She had previously dabbled with it in the past, but in 2018 she started taking classes at Club Pilates and never looked back. She quickly noticed the overlap between the exercises she was doing in physical therapy and the movements in Pilates. It was a game-changer—not just for strengthening and moving her body, but for finding balance and relief. Inspired by her own journey, she decided to enroll in the Club Pilates 500-hour Comprehensive Teacher Training program, determined to help others experience the same benefits she found. Pilates has become more than just a workout for Julisa; it’s a healing practice and a way to move better and feel stronger. Her goal is to make Pilates accessible to everyone, guiding them through their own Pilates journey!
