Diane has been teaching fitness for over 35 years and was among those individuals that pioneered the explosion of the fitness industry in the early 80’s. She started teaching at a fitness boutique in NYC, Body Design by Gilda. The instructors from the studio researched various exercise studios for the safest, most efficient exercises and routines. "Pilates was not considered a brand at the time, so we were teaching classical Pilates mat exercise before it was even called Pilates”. Many years later Pilates was made into a brand.
In 2003, Diane had 3 foot operations due to the damage she had from many years of dancing. The operations left her with a collapsed ankle and no recognition of balance and agility. She was sent to The Harkness Pavilion for dancer rehabilitation, and it was there that she was introduced to the Pilates Apparatus. After months of therapy, she was able to teach once again and decided that Pilates Apparatus was it. She studied with Power Pilates in NYC as well as United States Pilates Association at one of Joseph Pilates' original studios at Purchase College.
She has appeared on TV, and in magazines and videos and has trained many celebrities. She holds certifications by AFAA, ACE, NSCA, ACSM, MADDOG Spinning, SCHWINN Cycle, and is a 200-hour Registered YOGA Instructor.
She is an accomplished vocalist and has a BS in Psychology. Diane’s main goal as a
Pilates/Group Fitness Instructor/Personal trainer is to EMPOWER her students with the tools to help them go deep. To find more strength, endurance and power both
physically and mentally… Anything is possible, reach for the stars.
