Instructor
Hi, I’m Shina! I grew up in Sanger, California, where movement was always a part of my life. I danced throughout my childhood and also ran track, which gave me an early appreciation for the connection between strength, discipline, and expression through the body.
My journey with Pilates began in 2018 while working the front desk at Club Pilates in Brentwood and Malibu, California. After taking classes myself and seeing how Pilates transformed clients from all walks of life, I knew it was something special.
In 2021, I moved to the Bay Area, where I joined the San Carlos and Redwood City Club Pilates locations as a sales lead. Not long after, my manager encouraged me to pursue certification, knowing it had become a goal of mine. I completed my comprehensive teacher training in February 2022 and began teaching right away. Now based in Fresno, CA.
Pilates has not only become my career, but also a deeply personal practice. I live with sciatica and PCOS, both conditions shaping the way I move and teach. Through my studies, I’ve learned how impactful Pilates can be in relieving sciatica, and I’ve experienced firsthand how low-impact movement is especially beneficial for managing PCOS. Despite challenges like rapid weight gain, Pilates has helped me feel strong, capable, and connected to my body again.
As a teacher, my mission is to create a welcoming space where people of all backgrounds and abilities can discover the same benefits I have. Whether you’re looking to move with less pain, feel stronger, or simply reconnect with your body, I’m here to guide you with empathy, knowledge, and a love for this practice.
