Pilates Instructor
I had no idea what Pilates was until a friend invited me to take an intro class with her at the Club Pilates Old Metairie location. I took my first intro class September 2022 and was immediately obsessed with this type of workout experience. I started off with the 8 classes a month membership and after three months went to the unlimited classes. I think I loved the structure of the classes the most, not much different than being a part of a dance class or cheerleading team (which I did both for many years) About a year into taking classes regularly I was approached by an instructor in the studio (Sandy) if I had ever considered becoming an instructor. I had not given it much thought at the time. Fast forward another year, I had made so many friends at the studio (staff, instructors, & members), I truly enjoyed being a part of the community and wanted to get more involved. I started the teacher training program August 2024 mostly to learn more about Pilates and more about my body through self practice. I still continue my self practice at least twice a week. I started teaching May 2025 & completed my full certification June 2025. The thing I love most about teaching pilates is the creativity we get to use and have as instructors to plan our own classes. It is also so rewarding when the members enjoy the class and start mastering their own self practice. Truly one of the best things about the Old Metairie studio is the community that has been created between members & instructors, it feels like a family.
