Veronica D
Lead Instructor
Veronica is a 500-hour comprehensive Club Pilates–certified Pilates instructor and Power Pilates Mat I-trained coach. She began her fitness journey at the age of 30, eight weeks after welcoming her second child. She was hoping to use exercise to lose pregnancy weight; however, two months after her child was born, she was shocked by her brother’s sudden death due to heart disease. Her exercise focus quickly shifted – exercise was no longer about aesthetics; it was all about health! This is when she started noticing significant mental and physical changes.
A former half-marathoner (12 races), she also embraces yoga, cycling, and strength training as foundations for core strength and resilience. She is also a Trauma Informed, NASM-certified Personal Trainer with a Behavior Change specialization. She also holds a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from Regent University and has a 24-year college teaching background. Her wellness philosophy centers on movement as a life-long path to health.
Married with two grown children, Veronica moved to Collin County in 2017 after a nomadic life as a military spouse living in 10 different places within an 18 year timespan. She loves her dogs, Peanut, Barney, & Ray Ray and she travels often to visit family. She also enjoys reading, container gardening, and attending concerts.
