Movement Specialist
Meet Teresa... I’m originally from southern Greenville County. After spending many years away, all I wanted was to return home to raise my children. My formal education didn’t lead me into fitness right away—I spent 27 years in the dental field, a career I truly loved. But when my husband became sick in December 2022, many of those familiar life clichés suddenly became real. I realized how short life is and that it was time for a change—a chance to connect with people in a new way and hopefully make a positive impact. That’s when I decided to turn my growing passion for Pilates into something more. I began instructor training immediately, and I’ve now been teaching for over two years. As an instructor, I really focus on proper technique to help members avoid injury and get the most out of every movement. One of my favorite moments is when someone leaves class saying, “Wow, I learned something new.” That always makes me smile, because it means we both learned something new—and that’s what I love about Pilates: the opportunities are truly endless. Club Pilates makes it easy for everyone to experience that joy and growth. One of my most memorable teaching moments was during my very first solo class: I accidentally finished 25–30 minutes early. Thankfully, a member caught it before I dismissed everyone! It’s a reminder that we’re all human, and we’re all learning. Outside of teaching, I’m exploring a new chapter—becoming an empty nester. The best part of this season is my perfect grandson, who I could talk about endlessly. Even though all five of our children are adults, my heart and interests still revolve around family. Our motto at Club Pilates is “Do Pilates. Do Life.” My personal version is: “We don’t say ‘can’t’—we modify.” And I think that applies to more than just Pilates.
