Leah C.

Certified Pilates Instructor
Leah began her mind/body/consciousness journey as a professional modern dancer and teacher. She performed as a company member and a project dancer, touring nationally and internationally in both solo and ensemble work. Her training in dance, anatomy, kinesiology, and arts management culminated in a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance from Rutgers University. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Counseling from ASU. Leah is a fully Certified Pilates instructor. As a dancer performing and training in New York City, many choreographers and dance teachers Leah studied with had trained with Mr. Pilates. They built Pilates movements into their classical modern dance training. During her ten-year career as a contemporary dancer, Leah attributes her well-being and stamina to a combination of Pilates, yoga, and resistance training practices. After retiring from dance, Leah was inspired to share the physical body's potential to explore deeper human expression and the richness of life. She aims to help others discover how movement can enhance physical well-being, as well as emotional and spiritual growth. She has continued her teaching and studies in Pilates with Peak Pilates and Power Pilates on the West Coast, as well as with Pilates Movement, Gramercy Pilates, and the Movement Salon in NYC.
