Meet our instructor, Carissa! Movement has always been second nature to her. Carissa started dancing at three and added a tumbling class in middle school, followed by gymnastics in high school. She took her first Pilates Mat class in 2007 and it just made sense. Carissa loves the way Pilates challenges her physically and mentally and is continually amazed at how much stronger, more flexible, and more aware she has become. Pilates feels like a sport: it pushes her, motivates her, and keeps her coming back for more. What Carissa loves most is that Pilates isn’t just about exercise—it’s about connection. With breath, with movement, with yourself. Pilates has helped her increase her core strength, reduce injuries, improve mobility, and just feel better overall.
