When asked about Pilates, Kat will tell you her biggest regret is not starting it sooner. Kat’s introduction to Pilates came in her early 50s, when a colleague invited her to join a fitness challenge at a local studio. This invitation led her to discover Pilates, a discipline she quickly embraced and made an essential part of her life.
After three years of consistent practice—sometimes up to four classes a week—Kat combined her love of Pilates and her passion for teaching by earning her Pilates teaching certification. Dedicated to continuous learning, she has received several additional certifications, including Pilates for Neurological Conditions and Pre and Post Natal coaching. She also holds a personal trainer certification through NASM.
A lover of the outdoors and a strong advocate for the benefits of movement, Kat enjoys activities such as hiking, swimming, volleyball, and pickleball. She credits Pilates with her ability to enjoy a variety of pursuits as well as being able to keep up with her two granddaughters. In addition to Pilates, Kat loves to travel and has explored cities around the world, enriching her life beyond her Pilates journey. She also sings with The South Coast of Chorale of Long Beach and enjoys a good concert or play.
