I’ve been active most of my life. I took my first group fitness class when I was 17, I fell instantly in love with activity and how it made me feel. From there I progressed to running, completing many 10 km races and half marathons. In 2013 I ran my one and only full marathon and decided it was time to move on an explore other activities. I then turned to weight training; it helped me to connect with the mind and body connection, and the benefits of building muscle as we age. When Pilates came to the area I was immediately impressed by its benefits. My flexibility improved, I had less pain and was able to apply the same principles that I learned throughout my fitness journey. Pilates has been a valuable addition to my routine of staying active and I appreciate the benefits of what our bodies can do as we get older. My goal is to empower and educate others to appreciate the benefits of activity and movement at any age of stage of your fitness journey.
