Meet Ivery, our General Manager. His background is in startup sales and he has traveled the world conducting business. Fitness has been a big part of his life, spending most evenings learning BJJ, MMA, Wrestling, and Muy Thai, as influenced by his mentor who currently holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
In 2008, Ivery enlisted in the army as an infantry soldier. It is here that his mental and physical capacity was tested to the limit. Other notable events include a canoe journey that lasted over 8 days and 148 km. He is most excited about helping people reach their fitness goals through the mind & body method of Pilates.
Monika is an experienced Pilates Instructor working in the Fitness Industry since 2003. After graduating from the Academy of Physical Education in Cracow, Poland with a Master’s Degree in 2007 she moved to Dublin, Ireland where she gained a number of qualifications in all aspects of Fitness. Monika is a fully qualified Pilates Instructor since 2007 completing the full Pilates Repertoire with Balanced Body University and Formal Lectures in Classical Pilates with The Pilates Center, Colorado in USA. Since then she has taken a number of continuing education and workshops with Master Trainers from Europe and America to broaden her knowledge and experience in fitness and rehabilitation. Her passion for Pilates is contagious and it’s the same love and passion that motivates her clients to want to come back regularly with the desire to take care of themselves. She moved to Canada in 2015 and has worked with a wide range of clientele from Olympic athletes to post-rehab, so you can be assured to get a safe, great workout with her. Monika loves all the outdoor activities and mystery books. Her favourite quote is: Change happens through movement and movement heals” Joseph Pilates.
Ashley Rhianne was first introduced to pilates after a car accident in 2004, and has incorporated many of the principle foundations in her warm up, training, and dance education as an international oriental dancer and instructor. She jumped at the chance to learn more at Full Circle Studio where she completed her Level One Stott Pilates certification for mat and all apparatus. As a professional oriental dancer and instructor, studying pilates has been the perfect match to influence her unique style of teaching and training. Ashley Rhianne loves the benefits of pilates for spinal, pelvic floor and muscle health and also for the fitness aspect. On her travels abroad she can often be seen working out with pilates-based exercises in airports at empty gates during long layovers! Pilates is something she takes with her everywhere she goes!
In addition to being a dancer, she also holds a diploma from Capilano University as a rehabilitation assistant and has been working in both acute care and research as a physiotherapy & research assistant. She has worked in many aspects of the medical system including cardiac and intensive care, orthopedics and with chronic lung disease patients. She also graduated with her degree in Rehabilitation in 2012 from the University of Calgary.
She is very excited about joining the team at Club Pilates and can't wait to see you on the reformer!
Meet Emily! She is a certified pilates, yoga, barre and group fitness instructor with 20+ years experience in the fitness industry. She is also a clinical healthcare professional with a Bachelor of Science degree and a clinical pilates practitioner with experience teaching pre and post natal pilates, pilates for older adults and pilates for neurological conditions and Parkinsons.
Emily obtained her BCRPA/CFES group fitness license through Body Blueprint (Christina Truscott), Stott mat intensive and reformer intensive certification, Total Barre certification, Pilates method alliance mat certification, Bodycontrol Pilates training, Polestar clinical pilates principles and foundations certification, apparatus barrels, cardiorebounder, chair and tower training, and strength training certification.
With experience instructing pilates mat, reformer, ball, bosu, barre, pilates stretch/yoga , cardiopilates and functional fitness classes, Emily looks forward to facilitating the benefits of pilates and fitness to her clients/participants- diaphragmatic breathing, pelvic-lower lumbar trunk, shoulder and cervical stability, muscular balance, flexibility, injury prevention and rehabilitation, and athletic performance.
Meet Jenn! We find true value in experiences when guidance empowers us to connect the dots and create alignment with the elements that are most important in our lives. This is cultivated through an awareness of our own being and strengthening the connections between mind body and soul. Jenn has spent most of her life exploring these connections and has always found solace in sharing her training and life experiences with others. From inspiring and coaching basketball teams at a young age to earning her black belt in Taekwondo at the age of 19. She has risen to the ranks of a P.A.D.I Dive Master and continues to grow as an educator and athlete. As someone who understands the benefits of an active lifestyle, she focuses her practice (Pilates) on using controlled movements, with an emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance. Jenn completed her a comprehensive 800 + hour program where she received training in both Pilates Mat work and the full equipment repertoire. She also received her CTA certification through Pilates Method Alliance. Her clients gain valuable insights and foster those lessons into improving their quality of life strengthening the connection between mind body and soul.
Meet Raquel! She is a certified Stott Pilates instructor: certified in mat and all apparatuses. Raquel has always been interested in dance and fitness. She has taken hundreds of fitness classes over the years. After being hit by a car while crossing the road, Raquel suffered severe neck and back pain - this is what led her to Pilates. She loved the way her body felt with Pilates and how it healed her, which is why she wants to share this well being with others. Raquel is part of a dance troupe that conducts dance workshops at festivals. She is into health and wellness and the mind/body connection. Raquel’s Pilates training focussed on rehabilitation, although being into fitness her classes are very dynamic. She consistently provides high energy and fast paced programs while focusing on proper posture and alignment. Raquel wants to help people find their mind/body connection while also strengthening and lengthening their bodies. Raquel loves to travel and has been to over 35 countries. In addition, she has a Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences with minors in English and Sociology from SFU. Ultimately, Raquel found that her passion was really Pilates, along with health and wellness.
Robin is currently studying Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University. His passion in fitness has brought him to Club Pilates. Sports and fitness has been a major part of Robin’s upbringing. During his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, basketball, and dance. Robin was born in China and raised in Vancouver. He is fluent in English and Mandarin. His objective is to provide a delightful experience for the members while they are working towards their fitness goals.
Victoria has finished studying Interior Design and is now going into Business. She is very passionate about getting to meet new people and reaching for opportunities wherever she can find them. She’s originally from Texas but has lived in multiple countries including, Mexico and Chile and is fluent in both English and Spanish. In her spare time she loves hiking, kayaking, traveling, reading and learning anything she can get her hands on. She loves animals and would volunteer anywhere she can be with them. She hopes every member she encounters leaves with a feeling of being cared for and excited to come to their next class.
