Katie was born and raised in Charlotte, NC and attended Queens University where she received a Bachelors in Business Marketing and Psychology. After having her daughter, Madison, in 2008 she decided that the corporate world was no longer something she wanted to peruse. Katie had developed a strong yoga practice and decided to go to teacher training and began teaching in 2008. She taught in several yoga studios and a Pilates studio where she found a connection with Pilates mat and reformer work. Fitness has been a big part of her life. In 2016, she got her Personal Training Certification and most recently got her Pilates Certification in December 2017. She is super excited to be apart of Club Pilates. "They have such an innovative approach to reformer work that is both challenging and fun- 2 things that are crucial when you are working out", she said.
Niia Bishop began studying movement at age 5 as a dancer. She won a scholarship to the Alvin Ailey School of Dance, where she studied ballet, modern, African and jazz until a knee injury benched her at age 16. She began dancing less frequently and took classes at Mt. Holyoke and Smith Colleges while earning her bachelors at Amherst College. Though able to participate in sports like rugby and equestrian, her knee injury from high school continued to plague her.
Niia danced professionally in Massachusetts and New York before deciding to attend the University of Michigan to pursue a PhD in Comparative Literature. She began practicing Pilates in her home with Windsor Pilates DVDs. She found the results so profound that she began a certification in mat and machine Pilates in 2007. In 2009, with her son Reza, she created a mommy and me Pilates class called Mamilates, which she calls "a cross between Gymboree and Windsor Pilates." She taught this class in NYC, Long Island, and Buffalo. She is very excited be a part of the Club Pilates team and hopes her decade of Pilates experience helps clients achieve their physical goals.
I started my fitness journey as a child in gymnastics, I tried softball and basketball which was an amusing endeavor but short lived, and migrated to weight training in high school. I made my way to Pilates in the late 1990’s and fell in love with the method. I completed my Pilates mat and reformer certification in 2002 and I’ve been teaching ever since. I've added a 200hr yoga certification in 2008, then in 2009 became certified in Yin yoga and Vinyasa Flow. I certified in barre in 2013 through Exhale Spa. But Pilates was my first love and still is. The more I learn and refresh, the better instructor I become.

Originally a small town girl from West Virginia, who discovered she's really a Cali girl at heart, now calling Charlotte home. Movement has always been a part of Shawna's life, growing up she was a cheerleader and then she found her passion for dance. After she stopped dancing Shawna fell in love barre and Pilates mat fusion workouts after searching for a way to stay active after a cross-country move to San Diego in 2007. Shawna spent 6 years as a client, enjoying the barre/Pilates mix each class had to offer! A 2013 move back to the East Coast prompted her to follow her dreams and open a barre franchise of her own to share her love of movement with others. It was during this time Shawna realized her love of being in the studio, teaching and educating others. With the studio ownership chapter behind her, Shawna now focuses on teaching barre classes and is pursuing her comprehensive Pilates certification through Club Pilates. She's thrilled to be able use the skills she developed through studio ownership to foster the studio's social media presence and create community events both inside and outside of the studio.
