Tony Szabo
Instructor
Tony began studying Pilates in 2018 at Inspiral Motion in University Heights, OH. He found himself drawn to Pilates shortly after spending time as a yoga teacher and practitioner at Yoga Roots in Cleveland Heights. The parallels and benefits of both practices have become intertwined in his life, and he claims they are a perfect match. "Pilates will influence your flow in an asana practice just as an asana practice will set you up for a mindful Pilates practice," he says.
Always passionate about human movement, his interests have ranged from competitive sports to distance running to a carefully crafted mat flow. The thing about Pilates that captured his imagination were the classical exercises and the original order. He believes that Joe Pilates "Return to Life Through Contrology" was a game changer in the field of exercise and the understanding of human movement. Tony views the Reformer as an essential piece of equipment for anyone looking to move more efficiently and understand their strengths as well as imbalances. His favorite exercise is 'snake' because "you've got to work those side bodies." He could not be happier to be part of the Club Pilates team, which he feels helps make the world a better place one body at a time.
Tony holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Kent State University. He also enjoys playing acoustic and electric guitar. You might catch him performing at an open mic night around Cleveland or Akron sometime.
