E.E. is a BASI Pilates Certified instructor with over 20 years of experience practicing and teaching Pilates. In 1997, she began studying Pilates with Master Pilates Teacher and Movement Educator, Elizabeth Jones-Boswell at Houston Pilates to rehabilitate herniated discs in her back. In 2003, she again turned to Pilates for rehabilitation, this time for pinched nerves and bulging discs in her neck. In 2011, E.E. chose to make her love of Pilates her life’s work in helping others the way Pilates has helped her. She has started several Pilates programs at fitness clubs and studios, including a high school football training and rehabilitation program in Texas.
Crystal Parker was introduced to Pilates in 2002 when a rugby injury took her off the pitch. She was impressed by the diversity of the practitioners in her weekly mat classes, and became certified through Power Pilates in 2009. Crystal received her M.Ed. from The George Washington University in 2010. An enthusiastic learner, she has pursued several Pilates certifications and training programs, including two comprehensive approaches to the Classical work. In 2013, Crystal trained in Authentic Pilates through PURE Pilates Asheville under Penelope Wyer Barrow, a second generation instructor who trained with and served as an assistant to Romana Kryzanowksa, Joseph Pilates’ protégé. In 2014, Crystal pursued further training through InsideOut Body Therapies in Durham, a training center affiliated with The Pilates Center of Boulder, CO. Crystal has attended a variety of conferences and intimate workshops all over the US, learning from leading Classical Pilates instructors including Kathi Ross Nash, Jay Grimes, Brooke Siler, Mari Winsor, Chris Robinson, Blossom Leilani Crawford, Sandy Shimoda, Dana Santi, and MeJo Wiggin. Crystal has trained clients both individually and in groups at Duke University, the residential weight management program at the Duke Diet & Fitness Center, the Duke Faculty Club, and various other yoga and Pilates studios in Durham and Chapel Hill. She received her 200-RYT certification in 2016 through Carolina Yoga Companies. In 2017, Crystal received a specialty certification in Pre and Post Natal Pilates under Jennifer Gianni at Fusion Pilates in Asheville. She and her husband, Jason, welcomed their first child in 2018 and are looking forward to the addition of Baby #2!
Lisa studied at the University of Alabama, Birmingham were she specialized in Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation, graduating with a Health & Rehabilitation BS. After raising five children she relocated with her family to Charlotte, NC. In the early 2000, Lisa started working for Birkdale Fitness, Inc. as a personal trainer, primarily training members with physical and medical difficulties, including heart issues, stroke, cancer, Parkinson’s disease, and maintenance after rehabilitation. She started Pilates to help with her own rehabilitation after a major car accident, and under the guidance of the Lesa Crocker at the Bodhi Tree in Charlotte, NC. After working on mat skills she returned to study the Balance Body method to receive her certificates of Reformer 1, 11, 111 under the direction of Jennifer Gianni, Asheville, NC.
Ally received her Pilates Certification at Concentric Studio in Los Angeles in 2002. Her training is based on the Ron Fletcher Method. The Fletcher Method approach includes exercises that are “dance based” and provides freedom for creativity. Ally combines proper breathing technique in a variety of exercises – including standing work using the Springboard - to develop core and body strength, stability, balance, spinal alignment, and total body awareness. Ally helps clients recognize their perceived limitations, and works to inspire people to change old habits and create wellness in their lives. Her compassion for others is not only innate, but comes from a place of personal experience. She knows first-hand that Pilates can help people reclaim life! With a background in dance, and a BFA she brings sensibility and amusement to her work. Ally believes that great changes can made with a sense of humor. Her motto: “Work hard – laugh always!” .
