Meet Your Master Trainer!

Krista McCurdy
Originally from the Bay Area, California, Krista received her comprehensive Pilates certification in 2014. She discovered Pilates when she began taking private sessions to help her incredibly poor posture and to rehabilitate a broken shoulder, and fell in love. When the opportunity to become an instructor came up, she jumped at it, and discovered she had a passion for and dedication to giving clients a positive movement experience, an exceptional eye, and a deep love for rehabilitative Pilates. Eight years ago she experienced some severe health issues that caused her body to completely fall apart, revealing her Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and leaving her dangerously hypermobile, unstable, with zero strength, and with neurological symptoms that resembled those of MS and Parkinson’s. It was through Pilates, working with dedicated, talented instructors that she slowly put her body back together. This process of having to completely relearn biomechanics and what proper alignment and correct muscle firing feels like gave her a truly invaluable insight into the human body that continues to inform her teaching. She has worked with all different types and ages of clients, from the elderly to high school athletes. Her goal is to provide instructors in training with the knowledge, support, and mentorship necessary to empower them to provide their clients with the best Pilates experience possible. In her free time, she is an artist who works with collage and alternative photographic processes.
