Skyler developed a Pilates practice while training as a professional ballerina with the Kansas City Ballet, Sarasota Ballet Company, and the Albany Berkshire Ballet. She continued her Pilates education at the UMKC Conservatory for Music and Dance, where she earned her B.F.A in Ballet Performance. Skyler later returned to UMKC as an adjunct faculty member, teaching Body Alignment and Conditioning. Skyler is comprehensively trained through Classical Pilates Education (600 hour classical program) and the DK Body Balancing Method (500 hour contemporary program). After dealing with her own ankle injury from ballet and an internship at the Harkness Center for Dance Injuries at the NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, she became passionate about injury prevention and rehabilitation. Skyler loves to help clients feel their best, so they can be successful in daily activities. Knowing each member's name and body is important to Skyler. She feels it is a privilege to lead clients through their Pilates practice, train future instructors, and watch the Club Pilates community grow in such a positive way.
