Meet Your Master Trainer!

Cynthia Khoury Badrak

Cynthia Khoury Badrak began her Pilates Journey in 1995. She became certified through and mentored by Romana Kryzanowska, who worked directly with Joseph Pilates, from the time she was a teenager. Cynthia remained under Romana's instruction until 2001. During those years, in addition to teaching her own clients, she also helped to mentor the apprentices who had been part of Romana's program. She helped to prepare these students for their teaching and testing in Romana’s certification program.

Before her Pilates life, Cynthia had a very successful dance career in NYC, where she was part of numerous national tours and regional productions. She earned her Bachelor's in Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Texas and her Master's of Fine Arts in Directing from Baylor University. Her training also includes training in Bartenieff Fundamentals, which helps to re-pattern the neurological connections that create movement, and Laban Full Effort Work. Laban is a method and language used to describe, visualize, interpret, and document human movement. This training has aided her in years of teaching Pilates for injury prevention and recovery.

Her additional interests include being a Rock Steady Boxing coach; her Central Florida affiliation trains those suffering from Parkinson's Disease.

It is her honor and privilege to pass on the wisdom of Joseph Pilates Contrology to the next generation of instructors.
